is the drive useable?if so open the case of the pc you are using unplug it first!!!then touch the metal frame to discharge any static then take the old hd and connect it to the new pc make sure to set the jumper to cs or slave this should be on the hd case then just run pc as usual the new (old)hd should now be available to work with,also you can now re formatt it ti use for storage etc.

it does depend on the old OS as well as the new one, if it was XP on both for instance you are going to have problems with accounts and you may not be able to browse the files because of it

pull the hardrive out and put it in annother computer as a slave drive browse for your files when your done put it back in the pc it came from and reload it

place da windows cd in drive for that pc . close of menu restart pc hold down del . key ur enter bios .settings go to boot device set .frist boot device to boot up off cd. by hitting on page down key. then hit *ESC* key hit on *F10* key save settings . then restart pc . when u see boot from cd rom hit on enter. then reinstall windows from that cd . do not format hard drive just reinstall windows . when ask what parth to install windows type in da . box
c:\ windows .
then hit enter
ur have to type in ur product key for that windows os .cd
if u dont have that cd for that pc any more . ur have to take da hdd out and at da back of da . hard drive there is jumper bin put that on to slave . settings > (S) then place it in other pc as a back up hard drive. the start pc up and copy & pste files you need to a folder on the master hard drive on ur other pc
