Amd 64 X2 4200+ 939 Abit AN8 SLi 939 nForce 4 mobo 250 GB SATA SeaGate Geforce 7950GX2 OCZ PowerStream 600W PSU Ok guys, I'm really getting pissed at how many problems this computer has. Please read this and help! Istarted out with a Geforce 7800GTX and it worked fine with all games, the only problem was, I used to get corrupted textures in some games sometimes (artifacting) Then I returned it for a x1900xt and that worked fine also, but it overheated and again, artifacting... SO, I get a 7900GTX instead, this is where I get problems, I ran some games that I could with the x1900xt, and they would either give me an "encountered error needs to close" error at startup of game or just a crash with no error or anything. I read that the 7900gtxs had probs so I rma'd it to a 7950GX2 which I installed yesterday and what happens? You guessed it, games crashing without errors and such again, even oblivion wont work anymore. I have no idea what to do, PLEASE help!

I did install new drivers, I even used driver cleaner pro to delete old ones. I have tried everything you can think of, EVERY THING.

I would suspect a hardware issue like the power supply being to weak and may need to be replaced or the video card gets too hot and more fans need to be installed.

Hey there... it seems you're running 32-bit applications on a 64-bit computer system. It should be backward compatiable with MOST applications, but as you contest, it isn't always. You will probally need to first go to the website for the video card manufacture and see if they have a patch for running 32 on 64. Then, you may need to do this for each application (game title) as well. Go to the manufactuer's site and see if they have any patches. I'd say the good news is this will probally work. However, if it does work, the bad news is which one of them video cards did you like the best and want to use... ;-) good luck

Sounds like all the drivers etc have got in a mess. Make sure you have got the very latest drivers for your card - not just the ones that came in the box - go to the website and download the latest ones and check for posts with anyone having the same problem.

Best thing is to unistall all drivers and then reinstall the latest ones fresh and properly. this should sort it. also check that your active x is the latest version and you have all approriate updates. Again check forums for help with this in individual cases with certain games.

Before installing new video cards you need to delete the old cards drivers.

Are you overclocking stuff in the computer? I know this isn't much help but don't overclock anything in the computer and that may make a difference.
