I got a new computer earlier in the year that is equipped with a tv tuner. I tried hooking it up to the satellite the way the directions said but no such luck. Does my tv need to be the primary tv connected to the satellite box? My tv is a secondary tv. Can I still hook up my computer so that I can watch tv on it? If so, what do I need to do?

i have a mercury tv tuner and it has input for aux in signal consisting of a 3.5mm stereo jack for sound and a rca input for the video(picture) i used a splitter on the satalite to let me connect a scart to rca adapter and then ran the left/right audio and the video lead to back of pc. plugged in video lead and used a 3.5mm jackplug to l/r rca lead to connect the audio. it works fine, even plug my playstation in sometimes. i'm guessing your tv card has similar connections... most do. good luck

You need another decoder box from your satellite provider, or buy one that is compatable with your satellite service package. If you have more than one T.V. on the satellite now, there is a "block" where all the decoder boxes hook up into the one satellite dish feed. You may be able to hook an extra box into that block, you then have to activate it (the satellite decoder box) with the provider and pay an extra charge for another hook up. The other choices you have are a roof mounted antenna, good only for local channels or cable service. So, it's either pay for channels, or be happy with local programming
