Great question. Just a hunch of course, but I'm assuming you're using Windows XP as your oporating system. We're really not sure why but it seems that XP has that problem constantly and there's not a whole lot that we're able to do about it. Most of us have completly reloaded XP onto the hard drive, just to find that it's still doing the same thing. It's a glitch that Microsoft needs to work out. Once they find the solution, you'll automatically get the fix in your next windows update. Larry RadioShack 01-9590

May be due to a virus - the commonest cause. Run the scan.
If it fails, press alt+ctrl+del.
Lose all data - cut off the power and and try again - if it is a Pentium 4 or 5 with XP. Don't worry about offing the power in the latest Pentiums and software - they heal themselves.
Last resort - save all data in DVD/Data disc format and whatever else you can and reformat and re-install. - Don't forget an effective anti-virus and firewall and spam killer and anti spy-ware and ad-wares.

I have found this a common problem with windows x-p, Mine goes to the windows in shutting down and hangs. I just turn off the switch. If anyone has a better answer I want to hear it.

Control ;Alt; End. If that doesn't work turn off at the plug switch. Sounds like your computer has frozen, mine is always doing that.
