it started off saying error code 4, then 7 and then started to freeze, which resulted in my having to turn it off at the button (not the plug) it then tried to 'recover' but stopped and now says 'no operating system' and theres something called 'glue parts' missing ! ive never heard of it before i dont know whats going on! lucky i have a laptop but the pc is what the whole fam use and im desperate to get it sorted now as its something thats always in use and its like weve all lost a limb and i really dont want a 4 and 9 yr old on the laptop!! lol
any ideas anyone?

my system is packard bell it is asus (hope this makes sense to someone) 40gb hdd 700+mb mem
2.6ghz rocessor, intel celeron pent4

and i have 'glue parts error 5' but i cant seem to tattoo as its asks for s/n then will not let me type anything at this point only 0 and g seem to work, (works to type when i ctrl c) etc
doesnt seem to do anything when i put the mcd in either

Hi, let me start by saying that u have to post info about your pc before you ask any technical question about it, The info is needed for example some pc’s like dells have common problems or hp’s or Sony’s.

If you want my opinion on this (Im a pro) problem of yours i need the info of your pc. example: the Make? dell? HP?, Processor AMD? Intel p4? Hard drive:(storage)? motherboard:? asus? abit?

try booting from an external device (CDRom or Floppy)
to do this first restart ur computer and press del before anythin appears and then in the BIOS change the boot priority to the external device and reinstall the OS
like if u have a XP CDrom u can install the OS again on the same drive by removing the earlier version or repairing the same

Chill dude, your comp is fine...i f***ed up my hard-drive by changing the assigned letter before. Simply get a recovery disk..you can buy these Cd's that rescue your hard-drive by running an OP system from CD instead of relying on your HDD..

Sounds like your HD has died. Replace it and you should be ready to go. You will need to install an OS on the new HD however.

You have a hard drive problem. You might have to get it replaced.
