Hi I't not having any luck with my other computer questions on here but I will try another one. Under "appearance and themes" and then the "screen saver tab" then "power" and click on the tab UPS. Now there is a big yellow triangle with an exclamation mark there. Do I ignore that or is it important? Windows XP is my OS

UPS stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply and it's basically a battery pack that allows your PC to shut down normally after a loss of source (commercial) power. If your PC is not plugged into an UPS, then a yellow triangle would be a normal indication. If you do have an UPS and are still getting the warning triangle, you probably lost the drivers for the UPS software and need to reload them (using the CD that came with the UPS). Good Luck!

UPS is used for power protection to your PC when normal light has been gone.
As you are saying that you are seeing a big yellow triangle in your computer then it may be two reasons
1) perhaps some errors in UPS Software ( drivers for the UPS software)
2) and others can be UPS product problem.

So I suggest you for check-up your UPS to the service center, It can be a big problem for UPS.
You can use only UPS products branded companies like Riello-UPS.

A UPS is an external power source, like a big surge protector with a battery. They're designed to give you time to shut down,etc.. devices when there is a loss of power. Typically they come with power management software, which it sounds like you don't have. So, if you don't have a UPS, no big deal.
