First the installer crashes all the time. So I reinstalled the OS. The problem persisted. I bought a new hardrive and installed the OS..the problem persisted. I bought a new OS and wrote that to the formated hardrive... The problem persisted. I changed which slot the RAM was in and its all better... Please can anyone help me understand this?

CD is read,but when I double-click on SETUP.EXE, I get "setup.exe-Application Error. The application failed to initialize properly (Oxc0000005).Click on OK to terminate the app." Can't even run Win XP CD to refresh the installation--I get the same error. Same result on any installation disc. Forget virus and spyware problems--I've updated and run all the anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and the PC is clean. Everything else is working fine. CD drive plays music, reads and writes data.

Living in ireland so things are more expensive, I have an iqon pc with 2.93Ghz processor and 128MB of RAM(400Mhz), how much would i have to pay for 1GB of RAM on a single module and a 160GB internal Hard Drive? also do you know of a reputable site that sells these items and has the prices displayed in €uros? I live in Sri Lanka.It's in the southeast of India. It's near equator. The sound of my computer fan is very loud and annoying. I tried to open the case but still doesn't reduce the noise. I have 2 fans inside. I tried to stop the fan, but it freezes the computer. My system is Windows xp x64, and I have P4. When I play music, I can't hear it 'cause of the fan. Somebody help me.

When I start up my computer, log into a user, or start a program my computer makes a noise. Also sometimes it takes a long time for programs to start up like Norton Anti-Virus or Internet Explorer 6. Are these two problems anyway related?

I have bought my CPU pentium 4 3E GHz with Gigabyte 8IPE1000 Pro-G mother board one year ago, It works well until one month ago, since a month ago my cpu is turned off in the middle of the operation usually when I use it very much, I also check my cpu temp, and it is normal, even I checked my motherboard, power supply and Hard drive, they are also working well.
I dont know why the CPU is going unstable.
If anyone knows the problem please let me know.

the PC, my computer doesn't automatically detect the extra hard drive. I have to "Add Hardware Wizard" every time in order to access the extra internal hard drive. What can I do to help this problem? ("System Restore" does not help for the fact that when it is done, I lose virus-scan-program info; and need to immediately reverse the "restore.)
