My system is getting hanged even i work or not. nothing is working. after restarting also may be within 15 to 20 mins it will hang again. I have tried with different operating systems but invain.
my system specifications are p II 233 mhz, soyo motherboard, two 32mb rams and one 64 mb ram. 20 gb samsung hardisk, cirrus logic graphics adapter, creative sound card. And my processor is slot type not socket type. it has two ps/2 ports, one is for key board and other one for mouse. But mouse port is not working as it is broken. I am using serial mouse. cmos battery is also not working. The above said problem is there with and without that battery. so i removed battery. i checked all the components like mouse, processor, harddisk, ram, graphics adapter. I didn't noticed any beep sounds also. Please help me solving this problem.

I have an old Snappy still video capture device that I can't use on my new computer without an adapter, which I've been unable to find.

ON THE COMPUTER: There is a serial male 4-prong socket, about 3/4" long, wide on top, narrower on bottom.

ON THE SNAPPY: There is a male parallel socket, one row of 13 pins, one of 12, wide on top, narrow on bottom, about 1.5" long.

On the internet I've come close, but the male/female pieces don't work out. And I'd rather not go to the bother and expense of having a parallel port installed on the computer...and I'm not capable of doing it myself.

I've got an XP-2 PC.

Thanks.

i hooked up a high tech microphone to the computer and an external sound system(with an audio interface)..Anyway I had to do some adjusting to the audio preferences in order for the system to work correctly. One day the sound just went out...I try to play music, windows sounds, games NOTHING came out. So i disconnected the system and decided to go back to my regular desktop speaker system, when i hooked everything up and tried to put the configuration back to normal still NOTHING!!!

I'm usually pretty good with technical stuff but this situation is a tuff titty for me...

Can someone please help me?!?

I have switched power cables, eliminated drives, etc. For example, I took the power connection that was supplying power to the CD-ROM drive and hooked it to the hard drive: nothing. The hard drive works fine. I put it into another computer and it fired up fine. I could access it ok. Why will my power supply not power the hard drive?

I bought an ATI Radeon All in Wonder 9000, Phillips TV-Tuner, AGP PCI card, but it doesn't fit my old PC's PCI slot.
Any suggestions to solve the problem apart from buying a new PC :)

My friend installed a second hard drive in his computer, and Windows designated them like this:
C: 1st HD
D:1st DVD drive
E: 2nd DVD drive
F: 2nd HD

He would prefer it like this:
C: 1st HD
D: 2nd HD
E: 1st DVD drive
F: 2nd DVD drive

Thanks!
