AGP

(Accelerated Graphics Port) A high-speed 32-bit port from Intel for attaching a display adapter to a PC. It provides a direct connection between the card and memory, and only one AGP slot is on the motherboard. AGP was introduced as a higher-speed alternative to PCI display adapters, and it freed a PCI slot for another peripheral device. The brown AGP slot is slightly shorter than the white PCI slot and is located about an inch farther back. AGP is superseded by PCI Express.

An AGP video card is just a video card which fits into an AGP socket as opposed to a PCI one. If your computer is not very old, it's almost certainly got an AGP slot. In theory it is a better way to connect a graphics card to a motherboard in terms of speed.

Look at this page - if you have something that looks like the brown slot in the image (though it may be a different colour), then you have AGP.

AGP = (Advanced Graphics Port) A special slot on the PC motherboard for graphics cards, and the format of the cards themselves. Standard on new PCs from 1998. "AGP x 2" runs at twice the speed of the original AGP. Now gradually being supplanted by PCI Express.

AGP means Accelerated Graphics Port (also called Advanced Graphics Port). It is a high-speed point-to-point channel for attaching a graphics card to a computer's motherboard, primarily to assist in the acceleration of 3D computer graphics.

AGP is the type of port on your motherboard that the graphics card fits into. Its older than PCi-E and wont be included on new boards.

agp is a 2nd generation video interface,it actually stands for accelerated graphic port, and has a max bandwith of x8
alot of systems still come with agp but they are slowly be taken over by the x16 bandwith pci-express interface
agp cards are still capable of some blistering frame rates and should still be around for years to come
