Okay for the last 4-5 days my computer is making a very weird noise. It sounds kinda gravely and has a clicking noise when it is trying to load something. Then last night it froze up so I turned it off for a few minutes. When I turned it back on, it said "a problem has been detected with your hard drive, please consult the troubleshooting section of your users manual." I just kept turning it off and on and after about 30 minutes it came back up and worked fine. Today it did the same thing again, but this time it took 4 hours to come back. I kept getting the same message as above, then it would tell me to press enter to continue. When I pressed enter it said "primary master hard disk error." I just kept turning it off and on like last time, and it came back up after 4 hours like I said. My question is this, is there some kind of diagnostics test I can run while it is up to see what the problem is? I use windows xp, and I'm new at the computer so please give me detailed instructions!

Firstly, does anyone out there have any trouble with dual-core technology? I was looking at a AMD 64 X2 4000+. If so, what do you have the most trouble with? (Apps, games, etc.) And also, has anyone purchased a PC from CyberPowerPCs? If so, how is their service? Were they helpful? Thanks in advance!

is there an "unofficial" card that's better then others like is a Asus higher quality than a sappire or other??

I'm getting a new computer tonight, and I want to be able to copy my current HD (by simply installing it and dragging and dropping) to my new one, but I'm not sure that the fact that they have different OSs would matter. The old one has XP Pro, and the new one has XP home. Also, are there any other things I need to consider?

I have a Dell XPS t600 computer, bought new in 2000. It's running Windows 2000. Google Earth won't run in DirectX mode, and is too choppy to be of use in the "Open GL" mode. My graphics card is the nvidia riva TNT2 Model 64, w/ 32.0 MB. Is this too weak a system to use Google Earth? I've changed the display to "True Color 32-bit," and tried all of their other fixes. I have the latest version of DirectX, I've run "DXDIAG" and found no problems. Can anyone help?

When a friend of mine turns on their computer with Windows XP Home Edition they keep getting this Error Message...

"XML PARSING ERROR"
NasterDefs.xml:3: warning: failed to load external entity : "Colors.xml" %Colors;

Plus some other Error Messages with the XML references.

I THINK it has to do with Corel Office Suite. they had a "glitch" with the hard drive just before this Error started showing up, so I think that the drive may have scrambled some of the Corel Office files.

So, should they reinstall Corel Office or simply UNinstall Corel Office since they don't use it?

I need to find a place to buy a power supply for a friend's computer.

It's an older computer with a small power supply and space is limited in the computer case.

Here's the Markings I've found on it:

Sparkle Power INT'L LTD
Model No: FSP145-50NI

I contacted Sparkle, but they do not sell to individuals AND they no longer make that old\small a power supply...

I hope this makes sense. I downloaded The Limewire program. When you search on limewire, it puts tons of files on your computer. The files are taking up 10-12 gigabytes on Drive C:\! It says the files are under
C:\Documents and Settings\owner\complete. When I go to the owner folder, I can not find a folder named "complete". I tried doing a search for the folder "complete", but I get no results. I can find the other folder that the program put on there called "incomplete", but not the folder "complete". How do I locate this folder?

I was working on my Windows XP professional & all of a sudden there came a blue screen with a message that some harware is not installed properly, etc. I tried to restart my PC but CTRL+ALT+DEL was not working. Then I tried to open my PC with my other Window i.e. 98. It worked only for once but afterwords stopped working & was asking for system registry. Even I was unable to format PC. I had changed my hard disk & detached all hardwares but again same message was coming at the time of installation of XP. 98 were installed but graphics were a big problem in 98 as well. please guide that whether my RAM is creating a problem or there is some other problem.
