Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new computer. Any recommended processors/mobos, or
anything special I should look for?

I don't really understand all these specs motherboards have. Can omeone
explain the crux of the matter...., what really matters when choosing a
mb/processor.

The minimum I want is a P IV 3mhz. Should I go for a dual-core? What extra
advantage would this give me? How do AMDs match up?

Also, what motherboard will be recommended. I'd find it very helpful, if
someone could specify models, and tell me exactly why you recommend that
model. I want atleast 8USB slots, and Firewire too.

I'm going in for atleast 1GB RAM.

I won't be doing anything deadly. I'm not into games too much. I expect
some juice to be able to download huge torrent files, converting video,
downloading DV from my camera and editing using Adobe Premiere Pro - which
I expect will demand a bit.

I think I'll be buying this pc next week, so any help in this short will
will be much

I recently reinstalled Win2000 pro on my Pentium III PC. The hard drive is 20 GB, but when I look in the C: properties it reads the hard drive as (2.0 GB) with only 442 MB of free space left. It was a fresh reinstall and has no programs installed at all. I am also running 512 MB RAM.
Is this a properties (read) error or what went wrong and how can I correct this? Thanks for your help

My computer didn't come with an AGP expansion slot, just extra PCIs. Is there a way to plug my AGP card into there, or do I have to install an adapter or something.

This is what it has,

Amd X2 4200+
2Gb corsair XMS RAM
19'' lcd monitor
geforce 7950 Gx2 1GB
a8n5x motheboard
300gb 7200rpm hard drive
benq dw1655 optical drive

Do you think it's too much or not enought to play the latest games at full settings (FSAA) (AA) etc

Also would it run good with 7900 GT 256mb card?

Last night I turned off my computer and when i turned it on today my desktop background was black....when I go to Properties>Desktop the background, Browse, and position options are grayed out. I can only change the color. Even when I set a local image as my desktop background it does not work...Please any idea what is happening? Also, whenever my computer is shutting down it shows my original wallpaper (it's a picture of the moon) for about a second and then shuts down.
