get a new harddrive that uses the same type (SATA, ATA100, etc.) You can find that out by looking at the sticker on top of your harddrive, it says everything about it

First thing is shutdown PC and remove all power sources!
Wait for 20 minutes or so... and
1) Open the case, locate the HD
2) Remove all connection cables
3) Unscrew the holding brackets or screws
4) Take it out
5) Relpace with new HD
6) Replace screws and cables
7) Replace case cover
8) Power up PC
9) Install Windows
10) Play with PC (if it works, of course!)

1)Back up Data
2)Take out the old hard drive, unscrew case, and unplug the hard drive from the power and all that is plugged into it.
HINT: Make sure everything is unplugged, don't drop screws on motherboard, be careful.
3)Insert new hard drive in the old place, plug everything. Make sure you know if it is the slav, mas, etc.
Then plug everything back in, follow directions.

Unplug it. Open the case. Unscrew the old one. Screw in the new one in the same place. Attach IDE and power cables. The red stripe on the IDE cable should be next to the power cable and the red wire on the power cable next to the red stripe. Now you have the joy of reloading everything from scratch.

first of all you should back up you data. Go to your favorite tech store and buy a new drive of your choice. Read the instruction booklet and it should tell you exactly how to do it. It is simple as that.

the new one should come with a software disc for the initial set up. then run the operating system disc to get winxp on it. just connect it to the same power supply as old one and set the switches to match the old one.
