I never knew a update being a problem I am very sure it is something else lerking in your computer like a virus or trogen
but if you really want to0 delete the latest update from microsoft goto start in windows then to controls if (XP) if older then goto setting I think that will takew you to the control panel there click on the add/remove display and if you use xp I know you can see by date all the latest updates if the box up at the top is checked in that window 98se I am not sure of . But what I know will work for windows xp home and prof.

Upadtes become a problem when an installed program use windows (e.g) libraries as a shared component and windows update upgrade the library(example)/shared component but software remain the same, and so , it become bug mix.

To Remove the Update

Goto "Add Remove Programs" in "control panal"

for the installed list, upgrates are listed, remove them one by one.

You may wish you windows to be updated. if so, un-install your application/software
Run windows update first, when completed, then you may re-install your application.
