I payed $1410 for this plus taxes and S/H from the HP store. I personally think is a pretty good deal what do you guys think should i return it or keep it?

Ok I'm in Belfast, sister in Glasgow and trying to figure out a problem with her laptop, not easy! Her DVD burner is -R but only plays +R discs (puzzled yet, I'll carry on). Her burner plays 8x DVD+R discs but will not play 16x DVD+R discs. Excuse me for being thick but does it mean that 8x speed burners will only play as high as 8x speed discs?

I have made an o/s disc but how do I make this a bootable disc , because at the moment I insert it into the Comp & it wont play. When I made the disc it said it completed successfuly.

Im wanting a laptop for about £500 to £550 ish.

But i was always under the impression AMD were better than Intel, is this not the case with Laptops? i dont really know what to get, can anyone point me to a great laptop? i just need it to be fairly fast, 1 gig ram, some kind of independed gfx card.

Thats why that link im pointing you to makes me think its a great deal.

Recently I have installed an NVidia 7600GS PCI-E VGA with 512MB DDR2 RAM. But the problem is windows still recognize my RAM as 1013MB. I have Dual-channel DDR2 (512 x 2) RAM installed. How can I get this problem solved. Basically I can't remove the on-board VGA slot right? How can I disable on-board VGA on this original intel mother board?

I'm running Vista Home Premium and have a E6600 CPU. However, when I right-click on Start>Computer>Properties, it shows 1.8Ghz. Screen shot:

Also, in my BIOS, it tells me that the frequency is 1.8GHz too, but the CPU is definitely an E6600 which should be 2.4 GHz.

Does anyone know why this might be? Thanks in advance.

I want to buy a 1GB RAM stick.My current 512 has 400MHz (I think) and is 184pin...The stcik I am looking @ http://www.ebuyer.com/product/115961/product_info/rb/27141652312 has 667MHz and is 240pin, does this matter?

A friend left my laptop open and on the couch and I think a guitar case banged into it. I turned it on and the computer worked but the screen was dark, the outside part was not cracked but on the inside you could see where it was hit. I went and bought another laptop but now I realized my computer was about a year old, it might be worth fixing. I got a new one but i dont like it as much and two laptops are better than one!!

My questions are...(1) Is it possible for a average person that works well with computers to do themselves with the right supplies?(2) Can it be fixed? (3)Where can I go to fix it without sending it somewhere? (4) About how much would it run for glossy Sony Vaio laptop screen? ...

Hey all, I am in the process of designing a computer and I ran into a problem. The processor I am buying is OEM meaning it doesn't come with a heatsink. I am trying to find a good budget one, but I can't tell if I should get one with a 3 pin or a 4 pin connector. If someone has used this board and can tell me, please do so. Thanks!

i got a Nvidia 7300GT gpu with 512mbGDDR2 memory but i read that 7300gt gpu can make use of only 128mb memory.is that mean the remaining memory is waste and even not used as ram.cant my computer make use of it.

I am setup for automatic updates but that never happens. If I try to do it myself I get an error number 0x80072EFD. Looking that up and following directions did not help.
