right click on my properties under my computer or go to run
and type in dxdiag
it will tell you almost everything about your computer

Go to start, right click Computer (Vista) or My Computer (XP). Click properties. Information you want is on the general tab. Look on the screen until you see MB or GB. GB if low (less than 4) will be RAM. MB if high (at least 256) will be RAM.

Start/Control Panel/My System/select name of my PC it should show somewhere the XP version , name of the PC and how much ram you have. Most come with 512RAM.

Start -> Run -> type in dxdiag and press enter. Your ram will be listed there as well as other general info about your machine.

Right-click on the MY COMPUTER icon. Select PROPERTIES. At the bottom of the window that pops up, it will tell you how much memory you have.

if it break in 2 it has two ram !
