Hey all, I am in the process of designing a computer and I ran into a problem. The processor I am buying is OEM meaning it doesn't come with a heatsink. I am trying to find a good budget one, but I can't tell if I should get one with a 3 pin or a 4 pin connector. If someone has used this board and can tell me, please do so. Thanks!

This board has a four pin CPU fan connector, I managed to download the manual for the motherboard. The four pins are a ground, 12V power, RPM sensor, speed control. You can hook a 3 pin fan into a four pin connector though, you just won't have speed control, as that is the pin that is missing. If you need further advice on anything related to your new build, feel free to email me.

CPU cooling fans have three pins, two for power and one to sense the RPM.

If you install a four pin one it will hook directly to a power supply plug and will not give you an RPM reading.
