That's a pretty good deal. The only bad thing I see is that you hard drive is 5400 rpm which is kind of slow.

Is it worth what you paid ? That's a very difficult question to answer. The Specs you state are "incomplete" to properly ascertain this. Much of a computers "worth" is what it does for you, also depends on teh "quality" of components as well as their rated performance.
2GB RAM is enough for Vista, but speed of RAM and quality can make a difference to performance.
160G 5400RPM drive, I'm surprised to see anything less than 7200RPM, as a 5400 RPM drive will slow a system down. I have both 5400 and 7200RPM drives, and see a noticeable difference in access times on large files.
17" screen on a laptop . . . either you got a big lap, or it's really just a portable desktop . . .
Should you not also have looked at prices and stuff BEFORE you ordered and paid for it ? The other thing that affects value is the support you get . . . IF you get a 3yr, pick up and return warranty, it's clearly better value than 3yr Rtn to base.

all in all pretty good deal, I would like more HD space, and a faster drive, but for the price well worth it
