Hello. I find myself needing to get a laptop, but I don't have a grand or so to drop into one. I'm looking for a laptop that is priced $600-700, that's primarily going to be used for heavy Photoshop use. (big images, 15+layers). Can anyone point me to a general direction? I've searched myself but find the number of choices a bit overwhelming, and I'd like to get a good idea of what others suggest. Thanks!

I read a newspaper article online yesterday and clicked on "print" to print it out. The type came out huge, like maybe size 16. I didn't think much about it, figured it was just the way that newspaper sent things. Later I renewed my McAfee subscription and printed out the receipt and it too came out in large print. Prior to yesterday everything I printed came out fine but it seems that somehow the default for my type size has changed. Any suggestions?

I want to use Win XP on my new custom PC. But here is the problem: 1. It's a Win XP upgrade from Win 98 SE. 2. My system restore discs are made by Helwett-Packard (which probably has the Win 98 SE). Is it possible to use my old system restore discs in a new custom pc, then upgrade to Win XP (prefered) or do I have to spend extra bucks a new full Win XP os?

The thing is that the AMD now is raelly quite cheap but the C2D chips I been reading is really good with the new architecture and all that.

Is the performance better? And with regards to heat, power input, etc..which is the best chip I could get on a limited budget?

Thanks!

My Dad and I want to buy a new computer. I want to buy one that's fast, has lots of space, and just in general great one altogether. He wants to buy a Windows Vista but I don't because I've heard a lot of nagging about it. What do you suggest? What do you know about Windows Vista? What should I settle with?
