The AMD. Pentium sucks. period. but intel core 2 duo is great, just make sure it isn't core duo.

Both are good and reliable processors. The T2080 may possibly beat the 1.6Ghz X2 Turion in benchmarks. However, for the casual user, the difference in performance between the two would hardly be noticeable.

Technically as a user the difference is hardly visible.
You could go in for any one of the above depending the kind of support and maintainence the vendor is providing.

AMD runs a bit cooler than Intel so if using for games go AMD.
