The thing is that the AMD now is raelly quite cheap but the C2D chips I been reading is really good with the new architecture and all that.

Is the performance better? And with regards to heat, power input, etc..which is the best chip I could get on a limited budget?

Thanks!

I choose Intel, and I think you will be happy with it to. The video card is far more important than the CPU for gaming anyway.

The two could just be about even in gaming benchmarks. The energy efficient version of X2 4600+ would have a similar power draw as the E6320. Good AM2 mobos are somewhat cheaper than good C2D mobos.

But take note that best gaming performance comes from the graphics card and a really fast graphics card needs a powerful power supply.

This is a great chip for gaming, and stable too! I have the 4200+ and I am going with the 4600+ as soon as my order gets here. have been using AMD for a long time and have had no problems at all! I am a repair tech and I recommend this chip for gaming to all my gaming customers. 15 years in the business, and going.

right now c2d is killing amd. they run cooler, and the performance is much better. if you can afford the extra money go to the e6600 though. 4mb of l2 vs. 2mb. and the c2d are very easy to overclock if you have a good motherboard. i would go with asus for that.
