Im thinking of getting the E6700, but want to know if ill be able to get more than 2.67ghz out of it.

They can be overclocked, but remember that the 2.67 value applies to EACH core (so you are getting something closer to 5.3Ghz with multithreaded apps and when running multiple applications).

Yes, Intel Core 2 Duo processors can be over-clocked. Specifically, I know a couple of people who are running the 2.66GHz E6700 at 3.5GHz.

Also, this guy on techspot is successfully running his E6700 at 3.66GHz. Check out http://www.techspot.com/article/13-intel-core2duo-e6300-e6700-overclocking/
From this article, it sounds like 3.66GHz is probably the most you can get out of a E6700 without causing some kind of instability. Of course, this may vary somewhat from part to part and board to board...

YES! But you need a good enthusiast board and good RAM to do it.

and they overclock well.

people's favorite is e6400 e6600 and e4300.

those are popular because they are chaper then others and they over clock well.

make sure you use good motherboard and memory and pwoer supply.
