I want to buy a good gaming desktop computer. There are so many sites out there (ex. Alienware, ShuttlePC, WidowPC, among others) its hard to figure out which ones are better than others.

What is the best site to buy a gaming PC for a reasonable price?

This is damn frustrating. I don't know whether to blame Blizzard, Toshiba, Windows or Intel. No one seems to have a suitable answer. I just want it gone. It makes the screen blinks when I am playing WOW, or Sims. Worst w/ WOW though. And I am not the only one. Help me!!!

I am currently looking into building my own custom pc and have recently picked the motherboard i want.

The motheboard in question is a "Gigabyte GA-M61VME-S2 Skt AM2, On Board VGA, PCI-E, DDR2, SATA2 RAID, LAN, HD Audio, USB2, mATX" however the problem i have is that i am not that knowledgable when it comes to motherboards.

Could someone please explain to me the basic deatils of the board in question and also whether i have to buy a seperate Sound & Graphics Card or if they are included in the moherboard.

I just installed a new motherboard (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=P459-1224 ) with a Celeron D processor and 512mb of RAM. When I turn it on the hard drive light, the floppy drive light, the cd-rom drive light, and the CPU fan turn on but the computer doesn't boot. I suspect the problem is that my motherboard has the additional 12v port on it but my power supply doesn't. I think it could also be my video card, my motherboard has an integrated video card and the agp 8x slot isn't compatible with my older video card adapter. I just wanted to know what the problem is most likely to be before I run out and buy a new video card or power supply.

Ok, my mom will only allow me to get a laptop that is at most 500 dollars. I want a laptop that has enough of the basic requirements for basic gaming (like for mmorpg games) obviously im not an extreme pc gamer. i dont need a freaking alienware laptop or anything. just something for everyday gaming. i want 80 gb or more, a decent processor speed, 1gb of ram or more (maybe even 512 megs), windows vista home basic or windows xp premium, 15 inch display or more, and whatever else is good for 3d gaming.

it's an e-machine 325 with 512mb ram and 80gb hd. about 3 1/2 yrs. old. probably not worth fixing ? only paid $449.00 after instant rebate @ best buy. wonder what happened to it ? doesn't turn on at all now. haven't looked inside yet. shouldn't a fuse have blown before it started smoking ? it was plugged into a surge protector, monitor still works.

I have a HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-One printer and have been refilling the ink cartridges by injection from refill kits. I am careful with my methods and follow all instructions but with variable results. Sometimes they work well but at other times one or other colour refuses to print. Any suggestions for consistent results. Thanks, Mick

My darling daughter has run a black marker pen line across my PC LCD monitor screen. Its probably not as bad as it looks, and I have managed to reduce the darkness a little, but I want it gone so I don't hold a grudge against her for ever!!

I have used LCD screen cleaner with a microfibre cloth (had some effect) and baby wipes (had no effect).

The pen description is 'Lumocolor permanent 'dry safe' - waterproof on most surfaces + CD/DVD, Lightfast'

Thanks all!

My old speakers have only 1 socket to plug in. But back of tower has 5 sockets. Is this because i need to buy 7.1 speakers to suit.
I found advice on web that states...
'Playing back surround sound
If you buy a new PC, it may already have some or all of the components required for Dolby and DTS surround-sound playback. The following components are required:

A DVD drive
A general-purpose soundcard with surround audio outputs, an S/PDIF output to feed an external decoder, or a multi-channel audio card with at least six outputs
A set of powered 5.1 loudspeakers or a six-channel audio amplifier and a set of passive loudspeakers
DVD-playback software that includes Dolby Digital and DTS decoders, or an external hardware decoder
A set of loudspeaker cables and, if an external decoder and/or amplifier is used, a set of audio cables'
Is this my answer ? ? ?

Answers & any other advice would be great...
