I just installed a new motherboard (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=P459-1224 ) with a Celeron D processor and 512mb of RAM. When I turn it on the hard drive light, the floppy drive light, the cd-rom drive light, and the CPU fan turn on but the computer doesn't boot. I suspect the problem is that my motherboard has the additional 12v port on it but my power supply doesn't. I think it could also be my video card, my motherboard has an integrated video card and the agp 8x slot isn't compatible with my older video card adapter. I just wanted to know what the problem is most likely to be before I run out and buy a new video card or power supply.

Most new motherboards have a separate connection near the CPH (four pin square) that must be connected. Read the last three words there, "must be connected". If your power supply does not ahve a plug just for this, the power supply might need to be repalced. Not that it is bad, but it does not have that connection. There might be jumper plugs that will allow the connection, but that I do not know.

it prob. has something to do with the power supply, the motherboard prob. protects itself from crashing , so it never boots,i think that the power supply is the reason for this problem,

What OS (Operating system) are you using?

Have you installed the motherboard's drivers?
