i want to increase my hard disk capacity of my laptop..its 80 gb now..can i replace it with like 160 gb or so???? or can i attach an extrnal hard disk with my laptop??? laptop is LENOVO 3000 N100 SERIES with 512 mb ram and xp home genuine..plz reply the procedure and in bit detail..thnks in advance

Hi I have a new HP pavilion laptop with wireless network built in. It used to go into Hibernate when I shut the lid, but I went into the Power part of Control Panel and changed it to do nothing. However - when I shut the lid the wireless connection (802.11g) to the home network drops (suspends, the machine drops off the network). I stream music to the stereo from the laptop with the lid open, and i want it to keep doing so when i close the lid.

I've just had a phone call from a friend who tells me that she has managed to tip a glass of wine over her laptop keyboard !

Of course, she poured it off as quickly as possible but not before it had switched itself off. On trying to reboot, it would not start up.

I have advised her to leave it switched off for at least 48 hours to allow it to dry thoroughly as I thought that trying it before then could simply make it worse.

She did mention between tears that when she had tried to reboot it had given an error message saying it could not find Drive C - although she was a bit vague at what point that had happened.

Any advice as to what she can do to resolve the problem? Is the laptop likely to be totally goosed ? Will any of the data on the hard drive be recoverable?

Is it harmful to leave my notebook on and running (live streaming radio) while it is closed? It seems to get a little warm. It doesn't get hot, just warm. Just wondering if the heat is harmful to the computer?

I have a hp 1410v all-in-one printer, scanner, copier. it was working fine, until this morning when I went to print something out, and it's like it uninstalled it's self. When I tried to re-install it, an error message pops up that says "Found new hardware wizard" "Cannot install this hardware" "An error occurred during the installation of this device. The printer driver is unknown." Can anybody help me? I can't understand how if the driver is "unknown" why has it been working fin for the last 4 months or so? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have a desktop with original Intel motherboard- model number D101GGC. The specifications say that it supports both DDR 333 and DDR 400. The actual text written on Intel website for this motherboard is “Support for DDR 400 MHz and DDR 333 MHz DIMMs”. Currently I have DDR 333 memory [512 MB] in one slot [out of the two available]. I want to know can I put a 1 GB or 512 MB DDR 400 MHz RAM chip in the second slot? If yes, will there be some performance gain due to the higher speed of second memory (I mean more than had if used 1 GB or 512 MB of DDR 333 MHz in second slot too). Or will the 400 memory be forced to run slower- at 333 MHz?
