Just got a new mother board, a abit sg-80dc, and the on board sound , realtek ac'97, card wont play anything?? it dosent pass the windows compatibilty test and i cant seem to find drivers for it anywhere, will it ever run or what can i do???

$20-$40 bucks at Walmart will get you a starter sound card to add to the board. If the onboard is not compatible with XP, then there is not much you can do.

On occasion the CD that comes with the motherboard won't have all the right drivers so you have to download them from abit. If you can't get it going, just fork out $20 for a basic Soundblaster card.

Download the drivers from Abit. Link is provided that has all drivers for that board.

Try signing up for driver guide..they have a ton of drivers it might very well be there.
