I have a desktop with original Intel motherboard- model number D101GGC. The specifications say that it supports both DDR 333 and DDR 400. The actual text written on Intel website for this motherboard is “Support for DDR 400 MHz and DDR 333 MHz DIMMs”. Currently I have DDR 333 memory [512 MB] in one slot [out of the two available]. I want to know can I put a 1 GB or 512 MB DDR 400 MHz RAM chip in the second slot? If yes, will there be some performance gain due to the higher speed of second memory (I mean more than had if used 1 GB or 512 MB of DDR 333 MHz in second slot too). Or will the 400 memory be forced to run slower- at 333 MHz?

its ok but the speed of the ddr400 will become 333mhz because the 333mhz ddr cant catch up with 400 mhz., the 400 will need to slow down.

It all depends on the second memory stick. If it supports multiple speeds, it will step itself down to the lowest common denominator. You'll get some performance gain dur to having more memory, but both memory sticks will run at 333MHz.

each time! bypass forward. BIOS is so forgiving, it somewhat is going to easily study the SPD of each module then synchronize the cost to that of the slowest module. Latency/timings will additionally be set to that of the slowest module. same modules are in basic terms needed once you go with for to run twin channel memory mode in a motherboard that's able to such. sparkling the earlier vacant slot w/ a small paint brush. Reseat the extra module two times till now locking it in place.

if ur mother board supports it and then u r using it then there is no prob.... but the only draw back is that if u use both the chips of the same type then it will b much better

coz if u use 2 different types of rams it will affect the speed of ur computer and result in the slowing of ur computer
