After Christmas laptop prices drop even more. Does this happen immediately or do I have to wait for New Year to come?

The retailers have to pay property taxes on inventory that they don't sell by 1 January. That's why they are all trying so hard to get their stuff out the door before then. The problem with that is that there are a LOT of crappy systems on the market right now being dumped at cost because Vista is about to come out in January. When that happens, the "bargain" system that only cost $500 to buy now, turns out to be a waste of money once Vista comes out and the system can't run it.

Go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net and get a system from them. They have professional grade systems for less than most places sell consumer grade crap. Plus, they guarantee that every one of their systems will run Vista. I've bought 5 systems from them so far, and never had a problem or found a better deal later.

Price is really what it's worth. I got few defect items already and cost more than thought.
