my windows want come up after i boot the computer up .it says do to a new hardware or soft ware.what should i do, can i go buy a windows xp disc and reboot from there or just take it to a shop to get it service

I have 2 sticks in there one is 128 mb and the other is 64 mb. Can i put another 128 mb stick in place of the 64 mb.

I want to sell my computer. Before I sell it, I want to erase everything on the hard disk. My preference is to erase the contents of the hard disk without deleting Windows.

I am moving out of the country and would like to bring a laptop. The battery on my current model is shot, and the laptop itself is heavy. I want something small and ultra-light. My needs are simple: I play games from time to time and need to be able to develop projects, using Microsoft products. Since, I will be out of the country (S.Korea), I want something reliable. I would also like something reasonably priced (under $1000 if possible). If you need more info, let me know.

I just built a PC with SATA hard drives and Windows XP Media Edition and everything works fine except whenever I download anything online (drives, AIM, Winamp, etc.) the installation files are all corrupt. I try them on another PC and they work fine... what could the problem be?

I'm always afraid that the cartridge will leak inside the printer if it gets refilled. A looong time ago I refilled an ink cartridge - it was one of those canon ones with the individual color per cartridge and it was a major mess. I don't want to ruin the printer. Also, is it cheaper?

I have just purchased a new monitor( samsung flat 17"). my computer is custom. it worked fine 2 months ago, went in dry storage, and when I hook it all up...the signal code won't detect or work. I have cleaned and reseated the card(Nvidia bloody monster 4, Apollo graphics AGP card). I don't want to pay the "GEEKS" $70 to look at it if there is a fix out there I am missing...please help!!!

If, for example, I insert a cd to burn, and close the cdrom drive, the comp auto restarts with a blue error screen, but as long as the cdrom drive remains closed throughout the session, I can still burn/play the cd. I can eject the cd as well, but once the cdrom door is opened, I can only remove the cd. Placing another cd in the drive will cause the comp to restart. If I don't place another cd in there, nothing happens and it doesn't restart.

Well, there isnt much to say, but this laptop is a Frys Brand. It is selling at frys for about 600bucks plus tax (im not sure if there is a warranty buy ill check). It has 40gig hd, 256mb ram, and basically thats all. I've been reading reviews on the net, and some say it's perfect, and some say it's a horrible laptop. Well, i know im going to get replies like, "No way, it's not brand name, so dont trust it." Im on a budget, so i need a cheap laptop with a nice memory. Im not sure if it's a good deal or a crappy one - please help me out! Thanks.

I have a Tsstcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552b
Everytime I burn a cd it would be really chop only a few parts of the movie would work correctly when playing it on my dvd player. I believe its my dvd burner scratching the dvdr. cause when I look at the bottom of the dvd after I burn it.. it shows scratches? Anybody know how I can minimize the scratching my dvd player does or anybody might know what the problem could be?

I left my laptop shut and was out of my room all day and came back in at about 8 pm and i opened my laptop to find that there was water in it (my roommate swears he didnt spill water on it). I left it turned off and left it shut. After a few days it seemed to go back to normal, but now i can not get my D Drive to work. Is there anyway to get the drive to work again or is it completely gone?

HI, just wondeirng what the best video card i can get for $250 or less. when i mean best, im talking about best performance in video editing and gameing.
