First you have to share the printer.
Go to the printer control panel, right click the printer, and click sharing. Check the box for enabling sharing, and name it something intuitive (HP or something like that)
Click Ok to close it.
Make a note of your computers name: right click My Computer and click properties. On the name tab, get your PCs name.
Then on another PC, click Start -> Run and type \\YourComputerName and hit enter
A list of shares on your PC will pop up. Right click the printer icon, and click connect. It will say something about needing to install a driver, click Yes.
Do this on every PC. You may need to go to the manufacturers site and install the drivers if you are using a different OS. Like if the host is XP, p and 2k machines should connect just fine, win98 or me or 95 will probably need the driver installed.

You can share the printer on the network. Sharing is not recommended. this will cause the slow printing. Best way to share the printer is Jetdirect Print server. Just connect the network cable to the printer, assign one IP address to the printer.

you can use a print server from D-Link, if you have that many users. this will queue up the jobs properly. Or if you are on a home-style network, just share the printer. that should work too.

Use a printer server and put it on the network, or hook it to a specific PC and do it in a peer to peer network.
