can i run my laptop in safe mode ALL the time like 24/7 because safemode is SOOO much faster like 90% faster,like in normal mode i open a song,windows media player opens in like 1 min,but in safe mode it open instanly almost,and i like that better,soo im wonderin if its ok to just use it in safe mode all the time???

Thank you if you can help me here. I am looking if there are software which scan the PC hardware and return all the information in details to me, including the hardware manufacturer. Also, I wish if the software can works like harddrive software from manufacturer (e.g. SEAGATE, MAXTOR etc.), check the hardware and generate report on hardware physical health's status. Example: I would like to if a chipset (e.g. Northbrigde/Southbrigde) on a motherboard is working properly?

I got this monitor from my friend and it was working fine and when i hooked it up to my comuter the screen had lines and nathing was showing up it was Vertical Patern lines and that was it i dont know whats wrogn with it does any one know whats up or do i have to install some drivers, HELP

i was stupid & did a full system recovery on my computer now i have 2 reinstal everything again but i lost my cd rom 4 epson printer,scanner is there a easy way i can download that or someway other i can get help understanding how 2 go about reinstaling ,also its still in my comp. but my comp. cant find it when a tried the wizard thing please some1 out there can u help a stupido!!!!!

I wanted to start fresh with an older laptop, so I put in the hardware disk to reboot the entire system and erase everything previously on it. The battery is no longer good, so the laptop has to be plugged in to have power. I had just started to run the disk, it was erasing evrything and then my dog ran by and unpluuged the power cord. Now it wont even start. I think I may have erased everything and not installed anything because I had'nt even put in the serial/license number yet. Is there anything I can do to get the laptop to turn on again so I can try to run the reformat disck again?

Here's my situation. I used Alcohol 120% to make virtual cd/dvd drives, but I make too much and the drives occupied the drive letters of my other physical drives. I told Alcohol 120% to make lesser drives to try to make the drives reappear again, but it didn't. Now I can't acces my xD cards, SD cards, flash drives, or anything that has to do with a usb connection. How do I make it reappear again?

mainly for business use but I like to watch youtube, dvds, play video games like anyone else.

i'm trying to use it to free up space using the disk defragmentation but it won't work because i don't have enough space on my hard drive! it says you need at least 15% free and i only have 1% free... i already used disk cleanup many times and im worried that if i compress files it will damage them.... can you help me?? haha

what are the possible ways to reduce noise from dot matrix printer,with 136 column,cylindrical platen ,...how to investigate which are all the noise sources ? ? which all contribute?? gears ? carriage?? ,

carriage vibrates when it completes one side printing...

does sheet metal used contribute to increased noise ???

I bought a new Sony Vaio vgn-c140g two days ago. It has two small problems I have noticed. First, there are dark little spots in both of the lower corners of the screen. Second, when I run it on the battery it has a high-pitched noise that isn't noticeable unless you are in a quiet room. But when you are tuned into it, it can drive you nuts. So after spending $1200 on getting a snazzy laptop, should I exchange this for another one and hope it doesn't have the problems, return it for a cheaper one and save myself some money, or just live with it?

Ok..here is the deal. I just bought a Digital Camcorder. I am trying to burn the contents of the SD card onto a DVD-RW disc. Here is the thing..it's not working. My computer (purchased in 2003) doesn't come with a DVD Burner..only audio. So..do I have to buy a seperate device..or can I buy DVD Burner software to save my home videos to disc? The least expensive method is always best!

I need to know how to rebuild my hard drive - literally. It is doa for sure. When I plug it in, it does not spin, jolt - nothing. Both my hard drives did this at the same time. Strong power surge I'm guessing. I replaced the hard drive, cables, etc. . Now I just need to get the data off the old hard drives - any suggestions? I'm thinking there has to be a way I can transfer the disks from one hd to an other similar one? I received my degree in computers 15 yrs ago. This is something we didn't cover that indebt then :-)

I had some problems with an old laptop and wasn't able to use the laptop itself. I bought an adapter to connect my laptop hard drive to my desktop PC. I had quite a bit of trouble installing in properly and ended up corrupting my other hard drive. Fix'd all that, even took it to a PC shop and used 5 other methods including USB connectors to try and connect the disk. No matter what nothing seems to detect the hard drive. I'm assuming its not powering on? Maybe its dead or the needle is broken?? I booted it earlier for a split second and it seemed to be powering on but now nothing! Any help would be appreciated. Trying to recover about 20GBs of stuff, have also tried Spin Rite but obviously it doesnt help because the laptop now wont even recognize any hard drives installed.
