The suggestion to make a a copy of your old drive to your new drive is an excellent one but it does not tell you how to install the new drive, might I suggest you visit this web site, http://www.helpwithpcs.com/upgrading/install-hard-drive.htm There are many more such sites to be found on google but it struck me that this one was fairly straight forward and it helped me when I added a drive only a few weeks ago.

this is very easy go to best buy or circut city and find a hard drive u want to buy and get it then take it home pull it out of the box and read instructions then install by removing the side panel of your pc.

Replace: to replace your existing drive remove it from it's slot by removing the side screws on the drive first unplug the drive then after u remove it put the new 1 in it's place and place the screws back in it and put the pannel back in place and install os.

Add: to add a new drive with your existing drive first check to see if your 1st drive is master (os)and your new 1 slave or u can set both drives on cs (cable select) after that put the new drive in the next avalible slot then place it in it and screw it down then plug it up and your done instaling it.

Now to finish install thed software the gave u if any if not then use your os disk (windows xp) and formatt and repartion it there if u have the software install it and then run it and then find were your new hard drive is on the software and format and repartition it after your done then u can use it.

The easiest (but not cheapest) would be to let a local computer shop do the work. The only hard part is transferring all your info to the new drive.

Back up your important data first.

and then use Norton Ghost software to take the image from old HD and then bring it over to the new one. Whoo-hoo

No need to re-install windows or anything.

If you need my help, let me know. I would be more than happy to do so for you. (as long as you pay the shipping)

Good Luck

Stores like best buy, circuit city, and comp usa sell hard drives. buy one of these and comp usa has a department that does computer work so they will most likely install it for you.
