I'm always afraid that the cartridge will leak inside the printer if it gets refilled. A looong time ago I refilled an ink cartridge - it was one of those canon ones with the individual color per cartridge and it was a major mess. I don't want to ruin the printer. Also, is it cheaper?

Refills can be a way to save money as long as you understand that they will have a higher failure rate than the originals. That is because the cartridges themselves wear out (electrically) over time and eventually fail. The microscopic heaters that surround the nozzles and the nozzles themselves wear out over time. Kind of like you can only use a light bulb so may times and for so many hours before it burns out.

When your refilling, your actually playing in the margin of safety the manufacturer designed into the product so they were comfortable it would last until empty. There is a lot of safety room and if you handle your cartridges carefully, you can have great success in refilling. Just remember your running the product longer than it was designed originally for.

There's one trick that will help you. Never try and squeak that last page out of the cartridge before refilling. The ink itself is what keeps the micro heaters cool and the nozzles from fracturing and burning out the electronics on the cartidge. Kind of like running your car without radiator fluid. Refill before it's completely empty.

Good luck and happy refilling.

sometimes i would recomend buying a new cartridge or a better printer but that's just me
(lexmark, canon, hewlett-packard)
i tend to get scared when it comes to playing with ink and the printer i have cartriges only cost $10 each but their are 6 of them but they are used up veeerrrryyy slowly it's a canon i950 but i don't know about the refilling but i don't trust thing like that but it seems that printers these days don't use cartridges like that anymore the reason people like to refill them is because it is too darn expensive to buy a new one so they get it refilled which can sometimes be messy and weather it is messy or not will depend on the condition of the artridge so you have 2 choices either a new printer that uses $10 cartridges or a whole new cartridge for the printer you have now

Go to http://www.imarketcity.com and buy your cartridges there.

My Epson cartridges cost $28 for black and $26 for 3 color. That's $54 dollars a pair.

I buy my black for $1.25 and my color for $2.25 at imarketcitly

I have been using these cartridges for years on 3 Epson printers I own and have never had a problem. They are not old refilled cartridges but brand new from a 2nd source manucacturer.

Give it a shot, it will be cheaper than refilling them at Walgreens.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it is safe , they clean it using ultra sonic waves , then re fill it and tape it the same way as the original is . So if you install it with the same care as an original ( remove tape and gently push it down) you should have no problems. And it is cheaper than a new cartridge.
