I have Fujitsu Siemens Pi Amilo Laptop and accidently two of its keys (ESc and F1) broke this morning. I was wondering how much does it costs to replace or repair the keys in UK. (I am in Leeds currently)

My com keep hanging! I dunno the reasons.. it don't go on restart or memory dump.. the screen juz hang there! May i know what is my com's problem? Is it the video card? Or my Hardisk? It always hang when i play games.. and sometimes when i am juz doing nuting! Thanks

This began happening quite recently and i have never had this trouble before. When i press the power button to turn on my pc, all the usual start up noises that occur can be heard from inside the tower, but ever since this anomaly has occured it makes odd beeping noises that i dont recognize or have ever heard it make during start up before. The wierd beeping repeats itself as the computer attempts to start up but, and as this progresses the pc sometimes restarts numerous times in failed atttemps to start up properly. This happens for about 5 - 10 seconds before the computer just fails and shuts off. After it shuts off the power button to turn on the pc no longer works and i have to remove the power supply from the tower and replace it again in order for it to turn on. However, the strange occurence continues after powering up and the cycle repeats. I normally have to repeat the power supply technique numerous times before the computer finally starts up properly and functions.

I have a Toshiba Satellite 2435-S255 Laptop which I bought like 4 years ago. It has given me some problems before but has been fixed, etc. But a few months ago, my CD-R/DVD ROM just stopped reading disks. The tray opens fine but when I insert a disk it acts like if there was nothing there. When I try to access the CD-ROM it says "Please insert a disc into thr Drive". I've tried cleaning the lens with a cotton ball, and I've tried disabling the hardware and enabling it again, but nothing work. I'd appreciatte any help.

I have a Sony HDR-HC1E (High Definition) camcorder and am looking to get a new laptop/desktop for video editing. I'm not fussed if it's a PC or a Mac but it obviously needs to be able to handle the demands and I don't want to break the bank too much.

My computer screen keeps on turning pink, then blue, then goes back to normal, but then goes back to a pink screen. I have tried every possible way, and NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Do any of you all have any suggestions? And a way to fix it? I need it fixed fast because I have a visitor from the Netherlands coming soon and I don't think she wants to live here in the US with someone who has a pink screen on their monitor!!! I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out! Thank you!!!!!!!

I connected my wireless mouse to my USB hub as I don't have enough usb ports. I found it slow and now that I'm trying to connect it straight to the laptop, the IR receiver does not switch on. What is strange is that if the IR receiver is plugged to one of the ports on the laptop and the hub plugged in another one, then the IR receiver switches on. The wireless mouse did not come with an install disk. I tried uninstalling all the USB root hub, but the IR receiver still does not switch on if plugged straight to laptop.
How can I reinstall the mouse straight to the laptop?

I found out what Graphics card I'm using (SIS 315) and downloaded the necessary drivers, but when I try and install it, it doesn't finish, it says something about not finding the driver, whats that all about? what can I do now?
I've tried downloaded the driver from all different sites, even the official one and they're all identical, what can I do?

I removed the harddrive from my old computer and attached it to my new computer. I failed to keep it cooled down and it caught on fire.

There seems to be only damage to the power port area. How can I retrieve the information on the drive?

I used refill ink from IMS to refill the cartridge in my (6 months old) HP 4215 all-in-one printer. After the 3rd refill the printer stopped working.

Have used HP printers for over 20 years - never had a problem.

Found a reference that HP printers store the identification number (a serial number) from the cartridge. And that it tracks the last 3 cartridges used by the machine.

Can find nothing wrong with the printer.

Considering how HP "acquired" the phone records of their Board members, have to wonder - will the machine "shut down" if it detects you are not using new HP cartridges?

Friends have used the IMS ink to refill their printers - not by HP - several times without any problems.

On CNBC last week, they stated the FBI had required manufacturers of computer printers to print an identification number on the back of each page - which is not visible until a chemical is added to the page. Its like a UPC code on an item in the store. The id numbers indicate the manufacturer, model and serial number of the printer - which can be used to identify the owner of the printer. Orwell's 1984 mentality?
