I was really wondering how you got a genuine copy of windows, with out a genuine installation/restoration CD.

It sounds really fishy!

If you do have a windows EULA with you and the CD key sticker on your computer chasis. I would suggest pick-up any windows xp cd from your friend and go ahead and install it with your licence key.

Do you remember the product key which you got while buying the software?? If so you can give that while installing using the cd's which your friends have and while the registering option comes give your product license key...it should work!! All the Best :)

You need to buy a CD. I suggest to wait for a while because after a couple of moths, windows Vista will be out.

u can install the pirated one and later ask microsoft to give u a registration number i think around 41 digits. that will stop the message not genuine from popping up.
