It's just a matter of installing the right codec. That would do the trick.

Why do they even do that dumb stuff. Anyways you can setup which region you would like to play via the propertise on the dvd drive. IMPORTANT you only got a limited amount that you can change. So don't use it up.

Use VLC media player to watch your dvds. It doesn't bother with region encoding, supposedly. Give it a try, it's free.

there is a free program called regkill, you won't have to change it.
