i am assuming u've made a mistake, cause u r comparing a solo core v/s a dual core processor, which is un-fair

so i think u mean turin 64 x 2 dual core mobile

i cannot tell u very much about the turin except that it's clock speeds & fsb are higher than the intel's core 2 duo

but both parameters are not very important to me
especially the 1600 mhz fsb makes no sense on date

the intel core 2 duo consists of 2 families t5x00 & t7x00
i'm not a big fan of the t5x00 & woud rather stick to the older t2x00 processors

however the t7x00 processors are great cause of their l2 cache, which is 4mb > awesome even by desktop standards !

the t7200 > 2.0 ghz, 667 mhz fsb, 4mb l2 cache
is good enough for me cause the 7400 & 7600 may have higher clock speeds, but price is substantially higher on date & i find it unjustified !

by comparison the turin has only 512 + 512 mb l2 cache, which is lower than what the celeron has

hence my preference for the intel t7x00 processors !

The AMD comes with 64-bit software support, and performs much better than Intel. Also, I have noticed that AMD processors run a bit more efficient and don't produce as much heat. Intel, though, is a little more 'compatible' with everyday tasking, and illegal stuff like installing Macintosh OS X on your PC system.

is that AMD a X2 core or a regular 64bit?
-if you are comparing an AMD 64bit and Intel Duo 2 Core no doubt intel wins

-if you are comparing an AMD 64bit x2 to a intel duo 2 core, the duo run slight faster.

CORE 2 is better it's proven to go faster
but cost more

In the end your not going see a differance so if you wanan save money get a AMD, otherwise to brag to your nerd friends, Core 2 duo is the best.

if you going to invest money on a laptop i suggest getting intel, the resale value is higher than AMD.

If you like you can get CORE 2 duo XTREME which has more cache

i like the turion because it seems a bit faster my best friend likes the dual core weve both been in computer repair over 22 years each but its basicly a prefference thing you can go down to a chain store and play with the display models and see wich you like best
