I have an outdated Desktop Pentium-II now Iam thinking of purchasing a new one. But Iam thinking should I buy a Notebook(Laptop) Instead of a Desktop. while keeping the Older Desktop for printing and writing DVD purpose.
Please sugest me onw which one to go.

if i put on my computer ,my monitor dont display instead it shows that 'signal cable disconnected'.but the cpu is respond but only monitor dont show any thing for more..what can be the problem ,virus or dies of signal cable ,motherboard or..thanks for ur ideas

Is it possible to somehow hook a computer harddrive up to a television set and not have to use the monitor. So you can see everything on the television screen instead of the monitor. If so how and what do i need

I plugged my new Eyetoy USB camera into the computer but I don't know how to tell my computer that I have it. I remember a little box came up in the bottom right hand corner when I first plugged it in saying, click here to install hardware, but I exited it and it hasn't come up since.

Hello everyone,

This question is mainly directed towards those computer-savvy people. I bought a computer last year to be used as a backup in times of need. Anyway, the motherboard is a MSI PM8M2-V (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=PM8M2-V&class=mb). It's currently using a Pentium 4 2.6ghz (socket 775) with hyperthreading I think.

I'm now wondering what's the fastest processor I can upgrade it to. A friend of mine said I could upgrade it to a LGA775 Pentium D 3.4 Ghz. Is this possible? I don't want to purchase the wrong parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

my friend just got a brand new gateway pc. not sure about memory and all that. it has a dvd burner installed. win xp.
unfortunatelyt for her dsl is not available where she lives so in the meantime she has yahoo dial:( (i know, i know)
mcafee protection was already installed. ad-aware se is also installed. she tried installing an msn dial disk she had on her previous pc. i think it is only partially installed though. when i first hooked her new computer up for her it had like 79 running processes in task manager. this was a week ago. now it has 60-62 constantly running. i know dial up sucks, but she had AOL came installed when she bought the pc. it was still slow then but now that she is on yahoo it seems to be slower. Given, hopefully, enough facts on this does anyone have any advice for her? I also need a recomendation for a good antivirus. i don't think mcafee is helping any. Thanks for reading the whole thing to whoever has an answer!

My computer monitor has real problems. When ever i have to turn it off or unplug it its fine, When ever I go to turn it back on it stays black and clicks then makes a buzzing sound. With my finacial situation right now i can get another because there like 70 dollars for the off brand monitors. So what can i do to get my computer to come back on. I unpluged it about a week ago and it hasn't come back on yet. Usually It comes back on after a couple of hours is there any way that I can get my monitor to come back on with out having to take it anywhere. Thanks for your time

I have a Dell Inspiron 600 laptop.But the screen is black.I turn it on,and Windows XP load screen comes up,then the screen goes black.But the laptop is still on.Lights are still flashing on the keyboard and if i press too many buttons it starts to beep.But the screen remains black!The warrenty on my laptop is out-dated so Dell product service refuses to help me.Does anyone know whats going on?Any help would be great!Thanks!

I was thinking of buying this certain laptop and I wanted know what you thought of it (only if you have it) because there are basically mixed reviews and I need to know by Wednesday. If you have it can you tell me if it has a really wide screen and if it's good with PC games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon. Also, is it compatible with iTunes?
