im thinking about getting my aunt and grandma a computer soon all they would sue it for is occasional web browsing so they dont need anything special

Anyone know any simple easy to use computers for this? Like i said it would just be for basic web browsing

It used to work, but now when I try to set a restore date, it tells me to turn on the hard disk options.I try, it says it cannot be done and asks me to try restarting my system . I have done that, and no luck either.

"this program has perfomed an illegal operation and must shutdown". It will not load anything at all. (no icons, only the background on my screen) When i click on details it gives me the following message..."EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module EXPLORER.EXE at 0167:00401f31.
REGISTERS: (and then lists a bunch of code).....how can i load it again. I have the restore CD but it will not allow it to load...

I reinstalled windows on my other computer. everything worked perfectly. then, when i was in windows the resolution was 800 by 600. i was trying to make it higher. when i made it 1200 to 1000 it didnt work and now whenever i boot into windows it goes cannot display this video mode. it was able to do it before i reinstalled windows. help? how can i change it back to 800 by 600 and fix the resolution so i can change it?

Ok I am looking at two laptops. The Dell Inspiron 1520 and the 1420. I am really putting a lot into them so it could handle my media, multi-tasking, and 3D modelling software and stuff like Photoshop. Also I know Vista is demanding so I want to be able to handle that as well.
I am getting 3GB of RAM, and a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor.
The 1420 allows you to upgrade to 128MB Graphics card. But the 1520 allows for 256MB. I went to best buy to sort of get a feel for laptops because I've never had one, and saw that I like the smaller ones a lot better. Obviously the performance counts more then looks, so does the Graphics card make a big enough difference that I would want to get the bigger one?

i tried to look around in the mall and some of the laptop brands that they ussually offer are NEO, ACER, ASUS, and MSI.

NEO, ACER and MSI are the much cheaper price but i don't know how they perform compared to ASUS.

Sony VAIO and HP are also popular but they are very expensive.

and becasue of this i am confused which laptop brand is really good in terms of performance and quality.

by the way, this is my first time to get laptop and any good advice from you will really be great. and thanks in advance.

i made a small video and I have to play it in my store window and i need it to loop over and over. My dvd player does not have an option to repeat and currently it just stops at the end.

How can i get it to loop over and over? if not with nero then how can i burn it so it works??

I just bought a wireless Micro innovations wireless keyboard and mouse (combo) and I am wondering why when I hook it up to my macbook the space key will not work. All other keys work just fine. But the space key will not. I know that this COULD have something to do with the different layouts of keyboards (windows vs. mac)...

But is their any way to get the keyboard to fully function with my mac?

My computer is infected with "Security Toolbar 7.1", and it is showing different symptoms:
1. Computer prompts me that my system is infected with different viruses like trojan-spy.win32@mx; and to download different antispam softwares.
2. I am having full updates of norton antivirus... but it is unable to detect this problem
3. I can not restore my computer in back date also...
4. There is no infrmation about this toolbar even in "add or remove programme" in control panel menu..

for information, i am having original windows XP home edition and a licenced copy of norton antivirus.
i dont want to spent any more to remove this "Security toolbar 7.1"
Can anybody help me by telling the method to remove this spyware from my computer without spending money?

I have also tried with different free antyspam software like spyware doctor, HJTINSTALL.exe...but couldn't find effective solution.
Please specify me any manual removal tool..with effective links...if any.

I TRIED SPYBOT THE FIRST DAY AND HAD TO RUN IT SEVERAL TIMES AND SHUT THE COMPUTER DOWN, BUT IT FINALLY WENT AWAY. SAME THING THE NEXT DAY. TODAY, THE 3RD DAY, I HAVE BEEN TRYING OFF AND ON SINCE NOON AND IT CAN'T GET RID OF IT. IT SHOWS 1 PROBLEM. AND THEN IT TRIES. I CAN'T FIND WHERE IT IS EITHER. For some reason, my 2 GB flash drive has 38.5 MB of free space available, and there is nothing in it. On my Mac, I showed all hidden files, and the ".Trashes" folder is taking up 944 MB of space. When I try to delete .Trashes, I get his error message:

Sorry, the operation cannot be completed because an
unexpected error occured
(Error code - 122).


Please help! How can I delete the .Trashes folder and completely erase all the information on my Verbatim USB Flash Drive!!!
