I reinstalled windows on my other computer. everything worked perfectly. then, when i was in windows the resolution was 800 by 600. i was trying to make it higher. when i made it 1200 to 1000 it didnt work and now whenever i boot into windows it goes cannot display this video mode. it was able to do it before i reinstalled windows. help? how can i change it back to 800 by 600 and fix the resolution so i can change it?

Boot into save mode (Press F8 after POST tests) Then you can reset the resolution.


You might need to install the latest video driver. Also make sure that you have the refresh rate set correctly for the monitor.

CRTs should run at 75 Hz or 85 Hz to prevent flicker.

LCDs do not flicker and run best at 60 Hz.

Check your monitor specifications for the highest resolution supported at these refresh rates.

Try booting up your computer by pressing the F8 key and going into SAFE MODE. Then, go in and change the display mode back:) That should do it for you:)
