My F350 turbo diesel got very wet when I hit a puddle that I did not see. It began to buck and my “engine needs service” light came on. It finally dried out and things were ok again. At least I thought things were ok. The problem I now have is that every time it rains, I get that same bucking and the light comes back on. I do not know where to look for the problem. I have been told that it is the glow plugs, its wires, its this or that. I was wondering if anybody ever had this problem?

It happens when I start it up, but not every time. It sounds like the noise is coming through the floor boards and is VERY loud. It has 124,000 miles on it. Any thoughts on what that could be? Thanks!

i have a 1989 nissan sentra that after overheating started stalling everytime i stopped. i put water in the car and brought it home little by little because i had no-one to tow it and i didnt want to make the problem worse. it makes a rattling sound and i heard its a warped head. my question is, is this a very expensive problem to fix? what needs to be done? i obviously know very little about cars and how they operate. your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I was driving to Medford, OR and my car started smoking from underneath. I get out to look under my car, and my catalytic converter was hot as hell, but i had also noticed a little transmission fluid on the ground. What could it be: Catalytic converter, rear seal, or the transmission coolant lines.

My muffler was disconnescted to the tail pipe and I got power on my engine. I have now 25 percent extra power. I also have now great savings on gas, about 35 percent.

What do you think happened? Is the muffler defective?

My truck was stolen over night while I was draining the oil. So it was without oil at all. It was found and I suspect the thiefs used a towing... If not, how long or how far could a 350 motor run without oil in it ???

The Owner's manual says to put in 5W-20. That seems awfully light weight to me. I live in an area that has mild winters, but can get pretty hot in the summer. Wouldn't a higher weight oil be more suitable, like 10W-30?

Is there something about this engine that requires a lower weight oil?

The top of the tank is all rusted, so the gas spills out, so I need a funnel with a hose that I can stick down past the little trap door and actually get the gas into the tank. Once it's past that, it's fine, it's just that the top of the gas tank has rusted away. It's a 1991 car and I don't want to put money into it. Can I buy such a contraption somewhere and for how much?

I have this 1997 Chevy cavalier with an oil light coming on. The only time it comes on when I come to a stop. When i accelerate and go it goes away. I replaced the oil switch with a new one and light is still coming on. There are no oil leaks of any kind, and I don't believe the oil pump is bad but I could be wrong because it is not making any kind of noises when I'm driving. Has plenty of oil in motor. If it's a pitched wire any ideas to pin point? I had a friend do some work on it and he did mention the oil pan has a small dent and that could be a possibility. Any ideas?

I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus. Why is it that when I go to start my car in the morning it doesn't always start up right away? Also, when I'm idle the car shakes a lot, what is causing that? I had my fuel line and pump changed December 2005. I had my radiator and battery changed right before the winter. I also had an oil change and tune up right before winter began. And my car doesn't always want to start. It is very hesitant to start even when it does. No one seems to have an answer for me as to why it is happening and what has to be done to fix it. Can you please assist me?
