I teach H.S. and my sharpner gets used alot. When a kid sticks a pencil in it, the motor runs, but the blade that sharpens doesn't turn. Please help!!!

Buy a new one. They cost less than $20--probably less than what your time is worth trying to fix the old one.

Just make sure it's A/C, so you don't have to buy a lot of batteries.

Better yet, buy a mechanical one and make your kids learn the value of hard work.

It really is time to examine your capital expense budget carefully, and see if your school board can go out on a limb for a new sharpener.

They have cheap little plastic gears that strip. At $8 for a new one, they're just throwaway items.

Kids are too fat!!! give them an old crank styled one. It will also help them by creating the proper world perspective.
