It happens when I start it up, but not every time. It sounds like the noise is coming through the floor boards and is VERY loud. It has 124,000 miles on it. Any thoughts on what that could be? Thanks!

The noise sounds like it's coming from right under my feet..on the driver's side.

The control arm bushings will be bad on an Explorer that old. It's a pretty good job to replace them the first time. You have to grind away some rivets and replace them with bolts. The one on the drivers side is right under your feet.

if your check engine light came on after the shop get the codes read ill bet u they tampered with the fan controller probably disconnected it and are hoping to charge u for it

go to a shop and have them put in on a lift and check under the truck,

Check your motor mounts. These are probably worn out.

Did you look underneath. You might have run over someone and he's trying to let you know he's caught on something?
