I was buying gas at Walmart and was offered the option to purchase Additech fuel additive which was supposed to clean my engine and help me get better gas mileage. I was just wondering if this was true.

I started using Additech about a year ago. My car runs much more smoothly (less hesitation, better acceleration) and my gas lasts longer (about 1 day more on average). I would definitely recommend that you try it.

Most fuel has a detergent to clean your engine already in it when you get it from the pump. So buying more from Walmart is just gilding the Lilly. Won't hurt, but likely won't help either.

It does work. It cleans the complete fuel system. I was having problems with the fuel gauge sender and the fuel tank vent. One tank and it was completely fixed.
This will only help 2006 and older cars and trucks for these fixes.

Not really. Modern fuels have much better cleaners for fuel injectors than older fuels. Just stick with good brands.

it does work, but you probably will not see a difference. Your engine might though.
