I have a 93 Jeep Wrangler, 4.0L, 5 speed. The oil on the dipstick has been foamy and gray, I assumed the head gasket was going. So I drained the oil out of the engine, and it was completley oil, no other chemicals in it. The engine has great compression, and plenty of power, so what is making my oil look like that on the dipstick? I am a fairly good mechanic, but this one has me stumped. I also noticed that the gray stuff on the dipstick had a slight gas odor.

Thanks

Hi I was driving my Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 home from work Friday night & I didnt notice until I drove over it that there was a mechanical cog in the road which clattered under my car. I pulled over to look for any damage but it seemed ok. I then drove about 100 miles with no problems but now my emissions light has come on on my dashboard. I cant get my car into a garage until next Monday will the car be ok to drive in the meantime & does anyone know what I could have possibly done. Any suggestions will be great many thanks!

If I press the clutch immediately as soon as the Battery sign shows, the battery sign goes off and the car continues to run.
Two different garages have examined the car. It shows a map sensor malfunction trouble code and shows voltage fluctuation from the Alternator. The Alternator Switch(Cut Out) was replaced and the Battery now shows good condition. One garage insists on replacing the Alternator and says replacing map sensor is not required. The Other garage says that I need to replace the map sensor and not the alternator. Please advise.

Hello i have a 1995 ford escort with 100000 miles on it. My question is when i am driving on the highway, when i hit about 65-70 mph, the car seems to like jump or kick every few seconds and it feels like im gonna lose control, and i was just wondering if this would be a transmission problem or an axle problem or what, im not the greatest at working on cars, or telling what is wrong with them, but just from looking at it and the way it feels, it seems like somthing is wrong with one of those two things, any suggestions?

I have a '99 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, and I recently had the Master and Slave Cylinders replaced. Now I only reach the point of engagement on my clutch when I let the pedel all of the way out, instead of a just few inches off the floor like it used to be. My pedel is less than an inch away from the resting position before my clutch engages, making it extremely difficult to drive. I also have far less acceleration than I used to have. Can this be adjusted, or is this something that the transmission shop screwed up? If my clutch pedel travel could be rated on a scale of 1-10, where 1 is pressed to the floor, and 10 is completely released, the point of engagement is now about a 9, when it used to be about a 4.

(released)<*--------->(pressed in) verses <------*---> (* = clutch engage)
