Take the RED positive bolt and wire of your battery. NOT the black negative. if you take the black negative off first you can get shocked because you become the ground. Just loosen the bolt on the red wire and try no to let the wrench touch anything while they are touching the red bolt or it will spark and arch. Take the red wire off and just leave it overnight and you will be sure to have all your computers reset by then. If you have a security system on your car also when you reconnect the red power cable to your battery the security system may automatically lock your doors so have your keys on you and not in the ignition. Good luck...

Just disconnect the negative cable for 30 seconds.

Don't mess with the positive cable, and if for some reason you feel like removing the battery always disconnect the negative first.

open the hood and take the bolt off of the negative terminal on the battery and disconnect wire from it.

wait like 15 min or something to make sure everything is reset.

then re-assemble.

good luck!

an easier way to reset is to locate your main fuse panel and pull out the fuse marked " ecm" or "com". This will shut off the power to the computer and you will not have to reset your clock or radio presets.
