Hello i have a 1995 ford escort with 100000 miles on it. My question is when i am driving on the highway, when i hit about 65-70 mph, the car seems to like jump or kick every few seconds and it feels like im gonna lose control, and i was just wondering if this would be a transmission problem or an axle problem or what, im not the greatest at working on cars, or telling what is wrong with them, but just from looking at it and the way it feels, it seems like somthing is wrong with one of those two things, any suggestions?

Have your drive axels checked. Front wheel drive cars often display these traits. Might just be a wheel bearing but why risk death. And slow down!

There are some the reason why your vehicle will be vibrating, exceptionally at higher speeds. #a million: The wheels are misaligned - this regularly occurs with all vehicles. basically take it right down to a keep and get them re balanced. #2: The wheels are lacking their counterweights - some vehicles have counterweights on the wheels to keep the wheels spinning completely. in many situations this occurs with older vehicles. #3: The tires are worn unevenly - perhaps you've a flat spot on your tire(s) or the struts are not any further precise adjusted. #4: Your engine mount is incorrectly put in or would have failed. considering your vehicle is so new I doubt it is the problem. If I were you i'd say ninety 9% that your wheels are misaligned and also you want to get them re balanced.

check the air pressure in your tires to make sure that one isn't low. If that isn't the case, have a professional check it out. You could have an alinement problem or a tie rod could be bent. You don't want to wreck at 70 mph.

Sounds like a major problem to me and my advice (if you are able) is to trade up.
