I just picked up this little car, (for $500, mind you) and it's quite a different animal from my Chrysler Town & Country! The first thing I noticed is that when you hit a bump, you feel it all over, and you actually hear the back end of the car go WHAM! I checked the shocks, and their good, though.
What's bothering me is this noise from the rear wheels. After you get up to about 10mph, there is a roaring noise from the rear wheels that gets louder the faster you go. After about 45mph, the roaring turns into a pulsating hum-rrr-hum-rrr-hum-rrr-hum-rrr-hum that you can feel all over the car's frame.
After removing the rear wheels, and spinning the brake drums you can hear a grinding noise (metal to metal) sound coming from both sides, driver and passenger.
Any ideas? I'll replace both if I need to, but if anyone knows if this sounds more like a brake shoe problem or a wheel bearing problem, I'd love to hear!
