yes you should replace it at about 50k miles. I had a hard time with one myself because in almost every owners manual I looked in it never specifically says to change it. It just says to inspect fuel system and lines and replace parts as needed. I did a lot of homework on this subject before offering the service at my shops. The most common response was between 40k and 50k miles. The parts stores told me 12k miles and some greedy mechanics and dealers also told me 12k miles. But the majority was the 50k mile time. I know alot about the mechanics and dealers in my town and which ones are out there to help you and which ones just want your money. When changing it it is rare but about 1 in 500 cars that have over 100k miles and still have the original filter on it you could experience fuel pump failure after changing the filter. Most of the times people don't cycle the pump. After changing the filter you should turn the key forward to on position and keep there for about 5 seconds then turn it off and turn it back on again for another 5 seconds this makes sure the fuel lines an d filter are full before trying to start the car. But also if the filter is really plugged the pump has been working extra hard to get the fuel to the engine and when you change it the pump will be spinning so fast at first start up that it could burn out. Just some friendly advice I learned the hard way.

Yes, have it done right using Honda parts and a Honda Tech, i'm a Toyota Tech but my wife drives a older Honda and the filter will get stoped up over time, hers did. It's worth letting the dealer ship do it as they will know how. Most EFI cars and trucks depend on the fuel pressure being correct, low pressure can set po171 on most makes which is a lean code, the o2 sensor or AF sensor is making the fuel trim richer because it's not geting the right amount of fuel, agood clean airfilter is a good thing too.

i own a repair shop, and the fuel filter should be replaced every 12 thousand miles or at least once a year ,that's a part of maintenance that they seem to leave out on today's cars ,but its just as important as its ever been to replace the filter, the filters used at the gas stations take out some of the junk from getting gas,but not all of it,,but its real important to change that filter at least once a year, good luck,i hope this help,s.

in view which you have already got finished the ordinary preventive maintenance and meaning she has a clean invoice from that element; you could incredibly bypass forward and alter the gas filter out. this could get your automobile decrease back to her widely used self. you have clinically determined the subject completely.

You would probably be safe to change every 30,000 miles or so, although, I'm not one to heed to that schedule either. I've gone 50,000 miles plus with no problems before.
It probably depends on how much you drive, where you drive, and the weather conditions in your locale.
