when driving and not all the time truck will surge for an instant very noticable and sudden. changed air and fuel filter ran good and thought I had corrected problem but I was wrong. Also sometimes but not always will come to a stop and engine will stall. but I have no problem starting truck and continuing driving. Has anyone incountered this problem?

i have a 01, if it is stalling out of the blue, than starts rite up. its the cam sensor/crank trigger. about 150/200 $ sensor

the problem is you bought a ford! company is cursed. the 02 international sourced diesels were a nightmare for most owners. Huge amounts of warranty work was done on those, including fuel pumps (your problem), turbos, and more. Bring the thing in for warranty inspection, and check for recall work. You'll probably need it overhauled eventually. Good luck tho'
