80W - 90 gear oil will be good enough. Ford does suggest that you add a anti-wear agent in with the oil. you can purchase that in small tubes at most advance or autozone stores.

On the two wheel drive all i ever use is a pair of channel locks . The 4 wheel drive requires a special socket .
